There is a new MongoDB database monitoring dashboard from server monitoring company Boxed Ice. The dashboard enables the user to monitor data sizes, RAM, index stats, uptime delay and heartbeat information for an entire MongoDB cluster. It also has the ability to trigger alerts.
The service is being introduced for free, but Boxed Ice does plan to start charging a monthly fee. There are some limitations to the service that users should be aware of. The dashboard only works with replica sets and not replica pairs or master/slave. Boxed Ice does not plan to support either of these because replica sets are the most reliable and thus recommended production setup for MongoDB. The dashboard is also not available for Windows. Boxed Ice also offers apps that push alerts to Android, the iPad and the iPhone.
